WorX - Shoe Shining

If you are walking past Sidcup Station from about 8am in the morning, there is a fair chance you may see some of the guys and girls from The WorX shining some shoes. Going to school means getting up early, and for many some sort of travel to their school, whether by bus, train, car, or walking, and so we wanted to help brighten up some young people's days by being out in the morning and cleaning their shoes for them.

It's a great way to meet them, and  be able to have conversation's, though they are not always at their most talkative first thing in the morning! Usually there are a couple of mornings a week spent shining shoes, and on most of them we clean between 10 and 30 pairs. The first day we did it we were even offered some free shoe polish by a local shop! So, if you are passing the station early in the morning, come and say hallo, beep your horn, or even have your shoes cleaned!

Here is some evidence of the quality service we provide:
