New Generation Church

One Life Weekender

The One Life Weekender took place from July 9th to 11th, with a fantastic time had by all who were gathered at Kingsdown Scout Camp in Deal, Kent. The event was being run by Pipeline (Global Generation Church's youth arm) and The WorX. There were around 80 young people, and there was loads to do in a packed programme for them including raft building and racing, 24 hour campfires, worship, movies, lots of cakes, gatherings, identity and storytelling venues, football, small groups, a dance off, volleyball and plenty more.

Paul and Paula Weston came and shared at the main gatherings, and on Saturday evening, 13 young people gave their lives to Jesus, which was amazing to see. The next morning, one of the girls wanted to be baptised, so we all went down to the sea, and after she had been baptised, 5 others said they wanted to do it, and each one was baptised. The WorX was responsible for the storytelling venue, and the guys put in loads of hard work, making it really creative, including a story telling hobbit, and the Air Bed Challenge ...

It was a great weekend, full of laughs and challenges, and moments with God which Im sure people will remember for a long time. Hopefully this is the beginning of a long and fruitful journey with One Life, and we are looking forward to the next chapter!
