Volunteering

At New Gen some of our key values are to ‘Make Good Things Happen’ and to ‘Bring our Best’ and we think volunteering and joining a team, where you can contribute your time and talents in serving God’s family and our community, is a great way of living out these values.

We would encourage you to pick a team that fits with your skills and passion.  Some of our serving options relate to our Sunday Gathering Teams but if you have time during the week why not sign up to be part of our Midweek Volunteer Team based at the centre.

Some roles will require a DBS check but we can help you to sort that out.

Volunteering opportunities:

Sparkles – our pre-school club for babies aged 6 months to 4 year olds.  As well as playing with fun toys, the children participate in craft, bible stories, song time and prayer.

Rising Stars – for children in Reception and Year 1. You will have the opportunity to help lead craft activities, tell bible stories, encourage prayer and play games.

AllStars – for children in Year 2 to Year 6. You will have the chance to help lead kids’ worship, craft activities, crazy games, bring bible stories to life and teach our young people to pray.

Free60 – for young people aged 11 to 15. You will join a team that leads fast paced activities, worship, games, mini talks and group conversations.

Students/Young Adults – aged 16 plus. Join a team focussed on creating a community focussed on Jesus.

Freedom – to help serve those with a Freedom Pass. To chat, encourage and help create an atmosphere of love and fun on a Saturday once a month.

Hosting Team – to make sure everyone gets a ‘Big Hello’ when they join us at the cinema. From serving our team and guests to welcoming people.

PA/Visuals Team – A vital part of our behind the scenes technical crew. You will join a team that enjoy combining a love of technology with church. Come and plug in the cables and press all the buttons!

DIY/Maintenance – Do you love fixing things? Cleaning things? Sorting problems? Come and help us maintain our building to keep it serving our community well.

Blackfen Community Library – You can volunteer for any role – behind the front desk, sorting and shelving books, running groups, helping in the Rooted Coffee House or talking to people.
